History
TelSpan was founded in 1989 in Indianapolis, Indiana by J. Bruce Laughrey. We were originally created to support the telecommunication needs of our sister companies Medi-Span, Inc., a leading provider of computerized information services to the healthcare industry, and E-Span, Inc., one of the first online employment services. Medi-Span was sold in 1997 and is now part of Wolters Kluwer Clinical Data Information Group. E-Span was sold in 1995 and is now part of Monster.
Developing our own proprietary conferencing bridges in 1989, TelSpan became the first conferencing company to provide dedicated “800” numbers to its clients. TelSpan continued to grow and add additional capabilities for audio conferencing.
In the late 1990’s, web and video conferencing services were added to our portfolio of technologies that enable enterprises to communicate and collaborate both internally and externally. In 2010, client demand resulted in the creation of our onsite services, which allows the capture, creation, publishing and playback of content. In 2013, TelSpan unveiled its online education platform, which propelled TelSpan to a main player in the growing e-learning industry.
Today, we serve varying clients from the healthcare industry to government offices, including: Department of Justice, Indianapolis Colts, Ohio Health Care Association and National Wildlife Federation.
